We are need of new medical volunteers for this year's Camp. The Ignatian Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp is run here at Riverview for up to 40 children with disabilities. Our year 12 students are their constant companions, taking care of all their needs 24 hours a day, living in the Kevin Fagan Boarding House.
However, we need nurses to volunteer over the 4 days. We would also appreciate having doctors working a shift with nursing staff as well as on-call. We have shifts similar to a hospital:
7.30 am – 3.30pm
3.00pm – 10pm
9.30pm – 8.30am
We need current and previously registered nurses. These children are cared for at home by their parents and families and this is a fun camp, not hospital.
We also need doctors on call who live locally to be available, so if you fit that bill, please contact me.
Please ring or email me if you have any questions or would like to help – and ask around for those who have helped on previous camps, they will tell you just how wonderful this experience can be.
We would love to hear from you so we can send paperwork and fill rosters.

Working With Children Check
If you haven't completed a Working with Children's Check with the Ignatian Children's Holiday Camp previously, you are required to obtain a check.
The College Executive has requested that all volunteers provide the College with copy of their Working with Children Check and a copy of their driver’s licence. A volunteer Working with Children Check is easily obtained and there is no cost involved. For your convenience the link is below:
http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/working-with-children/working-with-children-check/apply/apply
Once you have obtained their Working with Children Check, please scan it, along with a copy of your driver’s licence, and forward it to Mary Byrne at [email protected].
This only needs to be done once every 5 years.
